About WRF

Wildfire Resilience Funders (WRF) is a learning and collaboration oriented network that works to advance progress towards wildfire-resilient communities and landscapes.

WRF fosters participation from beyond philanthropy, including experts and organizations on the frontlines of the wildfire crisis, driving multi-sector partnerships and relationship building among philanthropy, researchers, agencies, and nonprofits.

WRF is the only curated space dedicated to mobilizing funders focused on the complex issues linked to wildfire and climate change.

Created in response to the increasing severity and magnitude of wildfires that have come with the changing climate in western North America, the network aims to increase strategic alignment and investment, and maximize impact. Since its founding, it has grown quickly to include more than 140 member and affiliate organizations.

WRF membership is available to grantmaking organizations that are active or interested in funding wildfire resilience, while affiliate status is offered to community-based organizations, conservation organizations, government agencies, philanthropic advisors, and other entities that are working on wildfire issues. We also welcome funders curious about wildfire to join as time-delimited trial members or as funder affiliates.

Mission & Vision

Increase strategic alignment and investment by philanthropic and public investors to promote and accelerate progress towards more wildfire-resilient communities and landscapes.

WRF is a place for funders to gather, co-learn, and collaborate for strategic investment in a wildfire resilient future.
